Axar Patel may miss India's first Super 4 clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 event on Sunday, September 21, due to a head injury he sustained against Oman on September 19. The all-rounder suffered a setback while taking a catch as his head got hit on the ground, and he had to leave the field immediately. The southpaw ran from mid off to catch a leading edge from Hammad Mirza's bat.

While Axar managed to reach the ball, he failed to latch onto a catch of Shivam Dube's bowling. The all-rounder fell awkwardly on his head, which hit the ground in a flash, and was immediately seen in searing pain. After the Suryakumar Yadav-led India's 21-run win over Oman, fielding coach T Dilip gave an update on the southpaw's injury and revealed that he looked a bit comfortable after the clash in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
